79 K5...Big Ray gets his chit together. Finally

finally!
I have a L31 crate motor i bought in 05 for the ex, along with an Edelbrock 3505 tbi to mpfi conversion.

I am finally able to put this all together now.

I got my Holley Terminator X system today!! So, after I get my Bride settled after her health scare I can get to work. I just hope the motor is not rusted up from sitting so long...

First pic. Before.....

Edelbrock 3505

It uses the stripped throttle body as an air valve. I'm bumping the injectors from 19 lb 29 lb units. And, I have a 50mm throttle body coming. Good for 670 cfm.

Right on dude. Kinda cool mix of Holley and Edelbrock stuff. Should make a nice running solid engine for it.

It really shows the adaptability of the Holley system to run anything. I’m excited to see this come together.

Thanks.

I've learned the sensors are pretty much all the same. So they interchange well.

I read an article today, seems Edelbrock was bought out buy the same entity that bought Comp Cams, Holley, and a mess of other brands.

When I finish this project I'm injecting the 400 from the K5 and dropping it in one of my burbs.
I have a ProFlo 1 unit I picked up.

It'll be the next project.

Edelbrock was bought by that company well before they bought the comp group. They own Zex, Comp Cams, FAST, RHS, TCI, etc. They do not own Holley. Holley owns like 40 other brands now. They are the two biggest. PRI was way different last year because of so many getting bought by someone else.

With that engine sitting as long as it has, you may want to look into new valve springs.
Depending on the lift of that cam he may need new ones anyway. Same goes for shave to the valve guide bosses to limit the spring retainer to valve guide contact the Vortec heads are known for in stock form.

I thought the 400 ran well already?

Martin
It does, but I have other plans for it. And I'm trying to get a little better mpg than 10 along with the benefits of fuel injection.

Finally changed the rad hoses. Top one looked good, bottom one looked oem. It was just goo at the pump end. Had a pinhole in it. New cap and t-stat too.

All good now, back in bid'ness...
