79 K5...Big Ray gets his chit together. Finally

Its a crate motor i bought in 05 for my exes truck. We split in 06 so I kept it.
I have a multiport efi system that's going on. Going to put it in my 79 K5.

Yeah, I’ve been following, just didn’t expect it to be that clean I guess.

Yeah, me too. Been putting off opening it up for years because I imagine it would be all crusted up
Our dryer was in the garage when I was with my ex. That and the southern humidity had me thinking it was toast....

Haven't gotten much done due to personal bidness
But I did just pull the drivers side head, everything looks clean so far.

The machined surfaces on the head need cleaned. Exhaust & intake surfaces.

P.s. all manually, no impacts. My shoulder is angry lol

Out of curiosity, how far in the hole are the pistons @ TDC. Depending on what Cam and gasket.

Piss cutter performance came up with a formula for a l31 like mine. I bought the same gm gaskets, according to him bumps the compression to @ 9.5.

I have to compare the cam specs, iirc they're very similar. It made @400 ft lbs.

I'll measure the pistons for you.
