I'm super happy how it looks... the tires really filled out those wheel wells. Much much better.
Oh... this just showed up too. Price of steel is pretty decent right now 200ft of 1.75 .120 wall DOM, 40ft of 1.5 .120 and 20ft of 1". Time to dust off the ol'bender.

Pretty sure I agree with you. I'll get the one with the black ring up there in the next day or two and decide. The nice thing about the plasti-dip that I used for the ring is that it peels off pretty easy if I change my mind later.

Yep, and a benz sl63 imported directly from Germany, and a super charged Range Rover... unfortunately none of them are mine. That pic is taken at work... my boss stores all of his "other cars" here. At home he has ANOTHER super charged Range, a sl500 and few boats. I wonder what its like to walk out and figure out which of my $100,000 -$150,000 cars to drive that day.
The SL63 is my favorite to drive (he occasionally lets me drive one his cars).... That car figgin scoots. The seat bolsters actually actively move when cornering. It's an absolute animal to drive.

I tried to get it mounted last night... the torque rods /helper spring thing-a-jigs were in the way. I'm torn on trying to retain them or just cut them off.

The torque rod / torsion bar "thing-a-ma-bob" help lift the tailgate in theory... Here is the best pic I can find on the interwebs... this is shot from underneath looking up.

I took mine off when I did my bumper delete. The gate is crazy heavy. I don't use mine a lot, so it was no big deal for me. But be aware, most women and children will not be able to lift it.

Not being able to lift it probably isn't the worst thing anyway. I'll cut if off or remove it tonight.
Truck tailgate FTW, way lighter and you're already running a soft top so its that much less to worry about
