That truck probably has the best patina ever under the moss and cow crap. And being a '73 is worth many times what you paid to someone in an emissions area.
That poster model probably has some pretty awesome patina by now too.

Crossmember idea:

pretty easy to build and very effective. The brace that you see on the un supported corner beside the driveshaft goes up to the dash bar system in this frame buggy thing because hitting that corner causes flex problems when you mount the trans adapter foot and the Doubler/Magnum foot. Hard to do in a full body vehicle but good to think about.

You can tell we combat the problems with flexing or bending crossmembers by only mounting to one crossmember so if it gets pushed up the drivetrain can survive by pivoting around the motor mounts. If you have the cases mounted to multiple crossbars and one bends you break stuff.

Be very careful about over constraining the transfer case system. You'll break more stuff with mounts that are too stiff than the other way around.

Can’t fault @cybrfire for his packing... took me 10mins to get this out. Very happy with the bumper and the Powdercoat on it.

Now I’m leaning towards building the truck again.

Needed motivation so I put the face back on. Also Managed to wrestle the doubler onto the trans jack, Stab in the dual sync distributor, notch the frame rail for extra room for the headers and started laying out the fuel system.

Wish I had more to report but inching forward.
 
My corbeaus currently have sliders which are basically the same and I’m not super impressed with them.., they feel notch’s and seem to bind. Sliding the seats forward to get the kids in the back was a circus act and they ended up just climbing over the seats (which also is not ideal). Drives me insane but the “universal” corbeau floor mounts are cheesy as hell and that might be part of the reason they bind.

@skunked if I remember correctly your sliders are mounted to your cage? Do they bind at all?
 
I can slide these pretty easily with one hand forcing the seat forward and the other holding the lever.

Another thing about those chassis unlimited mounts is they have a pin on each slider so I would think you would need to be in the seat, pull the pins and then try to slide your ass forward. Then try to line up the holes and push the pins back in. Sounds like a lot of work to me.

And yes they are cage mounted.

Ah, good point... they would actually create more of sh*t show fiddling with the pins. Especially dropping one into the mud.
