Will 624 heads bolt up to '87 TBI intake without any issues? I have a complete running '79 350 and want to swap it in.

On another note, what would I need other than a regulator to install the carb for testing purposes?

need to egg out the 4 center bolt holes 2 per side for the older heads.

and older cams tend to make tbi run little off.

need regulator with return line out of it and set to 3-5 psi for carb.

also need hei style dist not a tbi dist as it works with computer only.

and if swaping in older motor need to add the knock sensor on bottom of block in coolent drain port.

The 4 center intake bolts will need to be hogged out. I've seen people do it but never seen a clean job that didn't looked hacked.

And I guess I don't understand the carb question. You want to put the carb on the truck to test the engine out?

I have the HEI, is the knock sensor on the starter side?

No, not test the engine out. The truck has been nothing like what the seller has told me. I figured I put in a reliable motor and see if the transmission works, transfer case, rear end.

I bought the truck with a "rebuilt" motor with timing issues and the famous dead battery. The motor is seized. Just looking for a simple install that I can test the other crap out. Not even sure the tbi works.

So the carb question was more to try out the truck.
