8.1 random dies help please .

Technically, you're supposed to do CASE learn if you've swapped crank or cam sensors, had the crank out, swapped the engine or swapped the PCM, but I don't know if that's causing your cam code.

In my case, I had basically done all of the above. When it was back together, it sometimes logged random misfires and flashing CEL until I successfully completed the CASE Learn.

Have done this to mine. 2x for ea sensor.
Did a relearn on friends car he had shot the parts canon at random missfire. Not sure the results he left for the summer, see what he has to say in fall.

Original cam sensor back in and no more check engine light and fires right off 1st crank unlike with new sesnor cranking 3 times before fire .

Been driving it and runs good not 1 hickup like before .

The new crank sensor solved it. Cam sensor was fine

New cam sensor was setting a code i never had before and also made it long crank before start . Swapped old back in and fires up and no codes . New crank sensor solved the main problem . Used GM crank and ACDelco cam .
