Anyone here ever use a Full Throttle lift kit? I am looking at going a little taller than 6" on my 98 K1500 Suburban without doing a body lift and converting to SFA. I am looking at their 9.5" lift kit. Just curious if anyone here has heard any positives or negatives about the lift. Thanks

Pretty sure i heard they suck. Someone had a sub frame break in half going down the road or something.....

Well i would say that is a huge negative. maybe 6" is the highest with I.F.S. If anyone else has any input i would appreciate it. Thanks

FTS lifts are pretty good from what ive seen, id put their quality up there with cognito.

but i almost gurantee you that for the around the same price of a 9.5" kit rims and tires etc you could could 3/4ton SAS your truck with rims, tires, axles, gears etc... ask me how i know:D

ill have about $5500 in my SAS when i done with alcan springs up front, new tcase, xover, 5.13 gears, rear locker, disc brakes, recentered H1s, 38.5s, rebuilt alxes i could go on... ive put in more than a hand full of IFS lifts in the past, and to be completly honest with you, SASing my truck was by far easier than doing an IFS lift

the 9.5 FTS is around $2300 with stiff ass 10" rear leaves, then if you gear thats another good 900-1100 depending what rear locker you get (and you will get a new rear carrier because the G80 thats in there now is a ticking time bomb) if you do it yourself, add about 500-700 more if a shop does it. then you add rims and tires and once your done you still have 1/2 ton IFS and a 10blt rear, its realy not worth it. it took the mistake of buying an IFS lift for my truck for me to realize how much i should have gone SAS from the start and i still kick myself about it:doah:

just a lil food for thought:wink1:

Everything you said does make sense. Labor cost isnt an issue as i do everything on my vehicles myself, but after reading your reply i feel more and more like i should just leave the suspension alone and just upgrade the weak points on the truck. I took this truck offroad once, and although i do want to do some light wheeling with it i dont want to go crazy with the mods. That is what i have my 75 K-5 for. So thanks for your input.
