8 Low

& honestly it's not really that bad. It comes & goes. I can probably live with it. I just thought I had it whooped.

I'm pretty sure as long as the inserts don't have holes in them you can run balance beads in them. May help solve the problem.

I'm pricing PVC as we speak. Not super cheap.

RAM mounted iPad loaded with Google earth, google maps, Avenza, & eventually FunTreks 4x4 trails. I downloaded the National Goegraphic Moab bundle. We had our blue force trackers & dukes units mounted on RAM stuff when I was over seas. I really like it. This is positioned so that I can easily use the unit or swing it over to my passenger or "TC". Ipad is in an Otter Box. I ripped off the stupid screen cover.

Tell me more about your iPad setup! Been thinking about this for mine! Would be awesome to be able to have all the navigation and music in it and just Bluetooth it through my stereo. Do you have a wireless carrier or is it all standalone? How bout an external GPS antenna?

The iPad I have is equipped with GPS & has a cellular account linked with my phone. All of my ITunes music is on there, I can text & receive messages. I am using multiple apps for GPS. Google earth, google maps, Avenza etc. the Avenza allows me to download the maps onto the iPad so even if I loose service my maps are in hard storage. It's really pretty cool, there are different layers to the maps so you have multiple viewing options. You can track time moving, distance traveled, average speed, min/max speed, bread crumb a trail, pin locations. Yes you can do all of this on an iPhone, but there are definite advantages to the separate unit. Obviously the larger screen size, & that's a big deal when driving/navigating. Not loosing your navigation capability while taking a call. Downloaded maps on a unit with a large storage capacity. I can mount my go pro anywhere on my truck & watch real time footage from the go pro on the GoPro app. The list goes on. With the limited experience with it, I think it's bigass titties.

That’s awesome... I think I’m gona pick up a refurbished iPad and do this. If I have everything downloaded I won’t need a carrier and if I do end up needing Wi-Fi in the boonies I can use my phone for a hotspot. Thanks man!

You can use an external GPS antenna with an iPad even if the one you get does not have one.

Yeah they suckered me in.... I like the apps and prefer apple stuff over Samsung but there are some things that irritate me. One thing I do love is Apple Music. $9.99 a month and I have unlimited access to music on iTunes.

Yeah, if apple has their imeathooks into you, the iPad is probably a better choice.

I use an great topo navigation app called Backcountry Navigator. I can't remember if they have an apple version. They either just released one or they are working on it. I've been using that one for 7 or 8 years now.

I've tried using a tablet a couple of times but it just doesn't stick. I keep coming back to my Garmin and phone. I have the elevation, speed, and road navigation on the Garmin and I use the phone for music and the Backcountry Navigator app. Part of the problem is my elaborate cockpit setup so it's hard to find a spot for a tablet. Normal people may not have that issue so much.

Lots happening, lots more to do!
Installed skid plate. 1/4" AR200. Welded studs to the skid so there is no hardware down under. Been finishing welding the back of the cab & finishing the box. Built a rear bumper out of 2x4x1/4 tubing. Welded. It's stout. Added 2 recovery points. Wired CB, USB charging, dome lights added a garage sale Tach. Just put a angle finder on the driveshaft. Thought I only had a couple of degrees of work at the pinion joint, turned out its 10. Too much. I'm pulling the rearend & cutting everything off. Spring perches, traction bar brackets & shock mounts. I have to get that joint squared away.
