is this a Blazurb or a Sublaze or a blazburbon or a Burblaze?
I was looking at replacing my 42's and the best bang for the buck that I came across was 40" LTB's. I hate to downsize but 42's are expensive.
You could buy 29" tires. They're nearly free by comparison. And boy, they would turn some heads on your rig!
When you make it out here to Wyoming let me know!
Well, I've been working but it does not seem like I have made great progress. I have had the fuel tank in & out a dozen times trying to get my crossmembers just right. Getting the 32 gal tank in just the right spot between the center section & the rear shackles was a pain. Had to cut up one of the pickup box crossmembers for clearance on the top. Fuel lines should be a go. Finally got the right rear spring bushings so the rearend is bolted in again,,,, for the 3rd or 4th time. I do not like the angle of the shackles but I will see how they look after I drive it a bit & get all the weight in it.
Hydro assist, tie rod, brake lines & such are here so I have work to do. I have the Hydro brakes out of Big Yellow & need to install them at the same time as the Hydro assist steering. I'm getting pretty damn close to being able to drive this pig. I need to. I'm starting to get tired of no sleep with no rewards. Once it's driving, future upgrades will not be so bad. The kid & I put a wrap on his crawler last night. Both of our mini crawlers are acting up. Going to have to tear into them too.
What's the skinny on shock placement? I see guys using Ford towers in the front but why? Just to get the angle more in line with the movement of the axle? I'm going to build a crossmember for the rear shocks. Do you guys ever run them outboard of the frame? Looks like I'd have just enough room if I modified my spring perch with a shock stud. Also I'm thinking I will run the eyes in opposing directions in the rear. Any reason not to?
The Ford towers allow you to put in a longer shock.
Pretty sure you don't buy one of these trucks to save money.. At least I haven't seen it yet.
