8 Low

Pulled the Burb out of the shed under its own power. It ran OK for a few minutes then progressively got to where it would only idle. Swampers suck on frost covered grass. Feels awful soft, but no shocks yet. Seemed like there was going to be a lot f body roll. Steered nice. Could not get the damn thing to pull back up the hill far enough to get it back in the shed. llI mess with it tomorrow.

OK, threw a fuel pump & fuel filter on it. Fired right up & ran right. I think the heater killing it thing the other day was just a bad connection. So it ran but I needed it back in the shed. With the fresh snow I knew it would not just drive up the little side hill I live on & pull into the shed. I put my too short front driveshaft on. Damn thing would not shift into 4wd! I messed around & messed around & finally broke off the shifter. It was on its way for a while from the looks of it. So I aired the rear tires down & took runs down the entire length of the west side of my property till I finally got climbed up far enough to back into the shed. I'm just glad no one was around to laugh at my big bad truck stuck on nearly flat ground. No brakes so I had to be careful. 1/2 of my disk conversion showed today. I'll have brakes soon. At least it's running good, heater, lights & wipers worked good. The 350 feels fairly strong. I never got to drive it before I bought it so the motor was a mystery to me. All in all I'm happy. Looking forward to 4 wheel drive. I pulled my front driveshaft apart in the process somewhere also.

I've been stuck on swampers in snow and the speedo said 55 and I was in 4 hi.. always funny..
By the way nice rig

70 looks sick inside. Like it sat upside down with Water in it for a while. Not going to dick with it right meow. I may look for another to build with a locker & 5.38's while I run this welded up turd.

Ha! HaHa! Ha,huh, hummmm. :rotfl: I can not get my drivers axle out, truck is squashed up against a wall. I'm having to crawl under it to even get to that side...

image.jpg Lost a chunk of passenger side frame rail I was saving for just in case. Got er though! Not sure how I did not see it coming? I swear the drivers axle was 10" longer! Safety rules were broken by the bucket load. At least I had my glasses on while I worked.

Finally got a chance to read through this! Its looking really good, let me know if you need anything else!

Found some more PO goodness on the drivers side. Not sure but it looks bent also. Gonna run it till I get another found & built. 1/8+ sludge, gravel, swamp, rust in drivers axle tube.

Ruffstuff sells replacement spindles.

I saw some on eBay a little while ago, someone just torched the axle tubes with the brake flange and spindle intact.

Might be worth looking into... I dunno.
