thats a good deal. Don't rush in to anything. I prefer to get a matching set of axles with the ratio I am looking for. I bought a D44/14 bolt with 4.56 gears. also got the driveshafts and a 205 from the same truck. I paid $300 for everything. I sold the 205 for $200. that helped pay to rebuild the axles.
I don't want to set up gears, or pay someone to do it. thats the advantage of a matching set of axles. 3.73-4.10-4.56 gears are the common ratios in a 44/14 or 10/14 combo.
If I did it over I would spend as little money as possible on the front axle until I found a deal on a 60. but not everybody needs a 60. I ran a 44 under 35" tires for years. spent tons on HD shafts, hub fuses, warn premium hubs, locker, HD u-joints. At least when I parted out the 44 I got almost what I paid for my 60 out of it.
