Soon is a relative term!
Plan right now is to get things squared up and a couple cross members in place. Then I should probably focus on making it a roller. Once I get that far I can drop a cab in place so I can know a little bit more about where the engine is gona sit.
So, right now, we're going to spend some time getting some components ready for those little markers. Need to have my wheels ready, Engine needs cleaned up and made ready for installation, rear axle needs to be prepped and I need to get my leaf springs here. So, for the short term, the frame is still fairly easily manageable and fits in the steel rack.
Is steel wheels and hub cabs too much to ask?

I didn't actually order material for that specific purpose. This tubing was for a different job that we haven't found time to get to so, rather than wait, we used it. Now, if we ever get back to that other job, i'll be cussin' up a storm wanting to know what happened to the material.
All according to plan.
Maybe by then the engine will be in the truck and you can reuse the material...
Unfortunately not. Already two short of pieces but thats OK. Stomper will find use for the 6BT engine stand. I have no problem investing some material in something like this. In my mind it goes hand in hand with doing the job right.
I have been blasting the engine with the purple power stuff the last couple nights. Tonight I took the engine on the stand down to the car wash. About half a block from my shop so just drove the forklift there. It's a whole lot cleaner now. Gona do it one more time after a little bit of scraping. Should be clean enough to get a decent coat of paint on it.
This particular 12v cummins has a lot of sensors on it. Some on top, some on the sides.
Any in particular worth keeping? Thinking it would be a little cleaner install if it didn't have all the unused sensors and connections.

A handful of them are covered there. Still more. I guess if I end up not using it, i'll remove and plug.
Clean as it's gona get. Now I can work on it.

Ya know, I just can't get motivated to work on something covered in grease and grime. So, yeah, A few bucks and a couple hours of my time and its a lot cleaner.
I'd have to say no, its not a frame off. Its a "Frame up."
It's a 1992. don't kow the serial.
Got some unused sensors out tonight and replaced with plugs. Power steering pump is off as well as the gear drive for it. Got the plastic tappet cover cover off. It's basically a sponge behind the plastic. It was full of water from the washing and alot of oil on the back end. The tappet cover is leaking so that's what i'm going after now. Unfortunately, I think I have to pull the VE pump to get it off.
