80's short box, "S.E.R.E." Box permanently attached to the cab.

its a Tilton constant duty electric oil pump. I think its actually designed for cooling differential oil so should be pretty easy for it to move the trans oil.

Which reminds me, does the Getrag use the same pricey oil that the NV4500 uses? Or just some 80-90 stuff?

Nope, the Getrag actually uses 5w-30 engine oil. Overfill it by a quart through the shifter hole too.
Lots of Getrags had an early death because guys would drain oil and fill them with 80w-90 like all manual transmissions of the day.
80w-90 will not lube the main shaft and front bearing correctly because it's too heavy

If I remember correctly, the bearings in this trans are preloaded .002" - .005". Hence the need for a thin oil.
Most guys run synthetic oil and change the trans oil every 2nd or 3rd engine oil change

Cool. I'll probably run a synthetic oil as well.

The sensor for the pyrometer should have been pretty straight forward but the tap snapped off after going in about 1/4". That made things interesting. Luckily since it wasn't in very far, I was able to get the pieces out and finish the tapping job.

Also go the alternator "W" wire set up so I can hook it to the tachometer signal converter.

Thinking we may be able to finish wiring up the engine and front end, next week. Not much left needed up there.

Thanks. Not very exciting build right now. Just the run of the mill stuff. Should get more interesting once we get inside the cab.

anybody know why there are two belts spec'd for this engine? One is with AC and intercooler and one is without intercooler. Mine has both but the non intercooled belt is the one that actually fits. Engine definitely came stock with the intercooler.

Not even sure how that makes a difference on the length of the belt.

Not sure why the intercooler would make a difference.
I used a 94-98 belt for my accessories. It is about an inch or so longer than the 89-93 belt is

I started with the longer one but the belts touched together between the AC compressor and alternator and then again where the tension wrap is.

Passenger side inner fender well fits with no modifications.

Time to start modifyin' the hell out of it for a shock absorber and exhaust!:haha:

Just run the exhaust out the hood, its what all the cool kids do :pimp:

I haven't seen that yet... Must not be to many cool kids around.:thumb:

Anybody have pics of a factory Dodge radiator, more specifically the mounting and from the '92 intercooled version?

are you running the exhaust outside the framerail?
