Its summer time...

Yeah, that it is. Hard to find time to work on it amongst all the regular stuff plus the things I'm trying to get done before winter gets here.

We've been doing a lot of cleaning out at the shop. You ever see a transfer case fall from a second story window into a scrap bin?

Not to mention we just replaced our CNC mill and automatic band saw with newer better ones. That sucked up a weeks worth of "every extra second" we had. Now we have to redo a lot of fixturing for the mill. Found an issue with the band saw so we'll have to rectify that right away.

Moved our air compressor and will be replacing the back walk in door to the shop. Cleaned off all the shelves and re-organized them to make better use of the space.

Its been a constant push the last few weeks, maybe a month.

Hopefully i'll finish up a few of these projects and be able to get back to the truck fairly soon.

Got a bit of wrench time in today, felt pretty good.

Finished up the steel line mounting for the transmission cooler.

Started formulating a plan for a NP205 support cross member.

Hopefully over the next few days I can get the rest of the AC system mounted up and get some lines figured up and find somebody to crimp them. I think we have a place nearby that can do them.

I didn't plan on putting the dash in for some time to come but a customer wanted to know if it fit with the vintage air unit. I was pretty positive it would but couldn't answer with absolute certainty so I bumped up the install date to today!

So, no problems on the fitment regarding the vintage air unit. It's close in one spot down on the bottom lip but it clears.

Making some small progress. Nothing really photo worthy lately. Lots of plumbing, running steel lines, short runs of rubber hose and so forth.

Considering what hose coverings are available to extend the life and abrasion resistance of the short rubber lines.

Might be able to get the rear most cross member for the t case in this week yet.

Also looking for a electric, air valve for operating the air lockers, both front and rear.

Needs to be a 12VDC, valve with the dump valve and as of now, the plans are for this to be mounted to the frame. Valve needs to be designed to be in the elements.

Got any suggestions?

That would have me using more airline that I'd like to. Only way I'd do something like that is to use steel line for the majority of that run. It's possible and a viable alternative if I can't find a heavy duty electric air valve.

Just seems like less of a fail point to me. But would be more of a pain to run all of that line.

pickup a lowrider or even street truck magazine... hundreds of different air solenoid options in them for air suspensions and such. hard part is that you need a 3way or 2way with exhaust. regular 2 way wont work for that.

I could tell you LOTs to choose from if 24v that I know would hold up. 12v isn't really used on the industrial front though

In my experience its the lines that are the fail point. By using an electric valve, positioned closer to the axles, I can keep the lines shorter.

Yeah, found a lot of the 24vdc stuff. That was the first stuff that came up in my searching.

That's the one part of the manual control that is so straight forward. So many easy to find valves.
