Thanks Dave. Plan now calls for a flange just like the one that is on the lower that has the "bulged" outer on it. Those two flanges can be bolted together and then I'm thinkin' a seal between the upper flanges and hood.

Worked on the OBW control panel a little bit yesterday. Long enough to realize the center hole for the outlet is off about half a hole. I'll fix that up and get it finished up pretty quick.
Did some more wiring in the engine bay as well. Last count has me at 22 wires across the core support. Could be done with a few less but considering voltage losses and trouble shooting future issues, things like drivers side low beam and passenger side low beam are being run on their own wires all the way back to the power source. Just a preference of mine. Never liked the 2 into 1 splice either. Need to get a couple good ground posts on the frame underneath the core support next. Not much wiring left to do up front at this point. Wiper motor and washer pump, on board air compressor pressure switch and a few other small things.

Got the ground posts put on the frame today. Also got the center hole for the outlet sorted out. I guess I need to build the rest of the box now and get it sent out for powder coat.

I know you mentioned no small wires but having seen these in person, there the only thing I want to run!! There bright but very much flood like.

yea, those lights are great. I have them for interior, storage and rock. Can't beat them for the price.
Not sure if that's the type of light I have in mind. Right now I'm leaning toward a 2x2 square light in a flood variety. 4 of them total.
I could see those for an interior, but not so many of them.
As of now there is no slip in the shaft but keep in mind, a lot of this is just mock up at this point. The steering column needed to be there for fitment but as far as the slip is concerned, that can be done much later.

Couple shots of the LED rock lights I ended up impulse purchasing. They are kinda heavy which I like in an electronic device. Housing seems to be pretty stout. Like the water tight disconnect electrical plugs and bonus! the wires are at least a 16ga. Probably 14ga.

Dang those look to be pretty bright! Does it say what lumen output they are?
they're Cree bulbs, so the quality should be good...
It did in the ad, not sure what the package says. I can't remember off the top of my head what the lumens were. If I recall, there were two numbers, Raw lumens and lumens. I'll see what they say and post up.
Seems like they are great in the quality department. Got the mounting location selected for the front ones. Rears should be super easy as far as location goes.
Hoping like hell to get some things done this weekend but here's a photo for yall.
One last thing to do to the welder control box. Since mine is not mounted "permanently" in the engine bay, I have some concern about it falling off the truck in use from pulling on the welding leads and so forth. That being said, I intend on putting a tube on the back side of the box that will slide down over the hood pin.
Been thinking I'd do this in a semi gloss black powder coat. What do you guys think? Maybe a bright red would be nice.

will that mounting be rattle free, or won't it matter with the 6BT in there anyway??
bright red will make it easier to find in the dark!
Do you have a receiver up front? Why not make an adapter to pin it in or on something so it can't fall off? Man that's nice work though!
I think I can set it up so its rattle free. Hopefully there is no dark in the cargo area of the truck. I think it'd be nice to be a bit brighter though.
I do have a receiver up front but using that for a mounting point would mean welding wouldn't work if the winch was in place.
