80's short box, "S.E.R.E." Box permanently attached to the cab.

I was building a winch truck for a guy in the oilfield a bunch of years ago. '82 Kenworth C500 with a big cam cummins. He pretty much gave me free rein on budget and design. I bought all Phantom II gauges for it. Like a shitload for both trans temps and rear diffs and air gauges and everything. Well I never did get it done before I left that company but I did manage to do something with the tach. I took a 10k phantom II tach and also a 5k diesel tach that autometer sold and sent them both to a place called Redline Gauge Works in California and they put the 5k guts in the Phantom tach and made a new gauge face for it that matched the Phantom style but was calibrated and only went to 5k rpm. BOOM! 5k Phantom II tach. Only cost the price of two tachs and roughly like 300 bucks or so to modify.

The cab floor looks really nice. I like the bars that run down along the bottom of the door opening too.

Not really much of an car audio guy.

Need some recommendations on a head unit.

Looking for something that has good sound quality. Dont need mega loud break the glass nonsense.

I may add an amp. Most likely a sub woofer. Currently all i have is door speakers. They are JBL 6" ers.

Any thoughts? Recommendations? Warnings?

Are those Jbl GTO's? If so you will need amp for those too I believe.

As for head units.. pioneer and Kenwood have the best internal amp. They both run Mosfet amplifiers for deck power. Kewood seems easier to navigate through menus to me. But I'm sure a pioneer wouldn't be hard to get used to.
