82 K5-Texas4x4rebels. Thinking about parting out the K5

Well I finally got around to replacing my drivers side kingpin spring and bushing the new spring was about a quarter inch taller than the old one. Went and test drove it and still shakes from about 25-45 mph.
I'm pretty sure it is the crappy tires and re-centered wheels causing the problem everything in the front end is new except that.

Anybody in the fort worth area got a extra set of good tires and wheels I can borrow to test it out?

The only 8x6.5 wheels I have are on my truck right now. The weld wheels are stupid ford bolt pattern or I'd let you borrow them. Unless you feel like swapping out wheels entirely. I have the motor torn down right now so its no big deal.

I like your wheeling pics! :thumb:

Thanks man.

I got out today after the rain and tried out a balance method I've read about before using golf balls. I put 7 balls in each of the front two tires and went and drove it. It seems to be about 50% better now I think its still in the tires but I may try and get a hydro assist kit and see if that fixes it the rest of the way.
Right now I don't even have a steering stabilizer on it.

That will definitely help, especially with any bump steer, but I still think the death wobble is the tires and or wheels.

Sound like tires
Hydro will defiantly help.
Steering stabilizer might help. Cheaper to try then hydro.
Hope to know how nice hydro is in a few weeks.

PSC will rebuild, revalve and port yours for $250.00

There kit is pricey but it is really nice.
