Had a helper of course, she had to be apart of the fun.

All that's left is to take some tin snips to it and cut it out.

well, ordered an engine cradle for when I pull it because I don't have my engine stand anymore, so once that gets here I'll get the engine and tranny pulled out. but got a question before I got cutting the dash out.

I plan on getting the aluminum competition dash from diy4x, I'm wondering what I need to keep before I go cutting on things. I saw one of the installation videos on YouTube and if I plan on having defrost I need to cut around and keep the defrost vents on the firewall. I plan on going with a Mojave heater of some sort later on so I will need to keep these? what else would I possibly need to keep?

got the dash all cut out today, all that's left is removing the step bars and I can start on the body work. hopefully pulling the engine next weekend.

Bought this a year ago, just pulled it out of storage, wiring harness from "keep it Clean wiring." trying to figure out what I want to do with the dash when I start it. also got some sheet metal to start welding up some firewall holes.

Got some of the cancer cut out. there's still more hidden. dad got home and it has been decided before I continue im going to just remove the body. so that's what im going to work towards next.

my plan is to build a wooden frame to set the body on with some big casters, but im not sure what to build for the body. is there a thread on here that shows what someone has built to hold their blazer body?

well unfortunately I'm not going to have much time this weekend to do much to the truck. iv gotten few more things taken apart nothing to really post about. but next week I'm off for spring break and the goal is to have the body off before school starts back up again. bought some lumber the other day to build a stand for the body, I went to wage92's thread and saw how he did it. looks like a good way to me so I'm going to try doing that.

got some more stuff taken off, and got the stands built today and the engine stand showed up.

gonna try and have the body on the stands this Sunday. also try and have the engine out as well. just slow goin. still wanna get the windshield out but not sure about how to do that. I assume when I start getting it out its going to break.

before I go to lifting the body up do I need to weld in some supports since one side the rocker panel is cut out and the other side the rocker is basically all rusted out?

something like this?

So glad I moved from the rust belt to UT and don't have to deal with rust like that any more!
yeah it really sucks! a year before I started this thread my rocker panels weren't so bad, it only took little over a year for em to pretty much rot out, and its only gotten worse since.

Yeah I remember having trucks back in WI with no floor but the carpet and no bed supports and it was just an endless battle with rust.
