84 Chevy CUCV 1008

What did it take to mount the K5 buckets in there?

The buckets came with the truck but were not bolted down when I got it. 3 of 4 mounts bolted right up. The fourth had a gap. I went to the dealership to see if there was some kind of spacer that went there. There was but it was out of production, so I made those. I think the seats came out of an ambulance truck (M1010?). They are a factory setup for that era of truck.

Email me all the pics you can take of it: rufneck53 @ hotmail . com

How's the rust issue?
How long have you had it?
Clean and clear title?
Any modifications?
Any subtractions since it left the military?

looks nice man. i might be interested in some body parts if you part it to get rid of some rust spots ive got developing

I'll work on getting you some more pics but I am pretty busy this weekend. The body is pretty solid for a 22 year old truck but it is no showpiece. It's got some dings here and there but nothing major. the tailgate is probably the worst part. I did replace the driver's side cab corner and rocker. I will take some close up pics of that. I've had it a little over a year now. It runs and drives great. I replace the glow plugs with some new AC Delco, did a tune-up (oil/filter/lube/air cleaner), put a new HD floor mat in it, and that is all I can remember doing to it. Pretty much a good running/driving stock military truck. Oh yeah, it would not start when I got it. I put 2 new batteries in it, had to change an under the dash solenoid (?), and had the starter rebuilt. I'll try to get you some pics early in the week.

I ended up with two of these trucks. The first one (this one) ended up being in better shape for what I wanted to do to it. I ended up driving it for awhile and really liking it but I don't have the room for two of them. I really don't want to part it out because it is a good truck but the parts seem to worth more than the truck as a whole. I will let you know if it does end up getting parted out. Thanks for the interest.

A'ight, that answered (in a very winded way) my first two questions. Now, please answer the last three.

The reason it sounds winded is because I was telling to you about the only modifications that have been done to it which is really just maintenance. No subtractions. It is a stock M1008 CUCV in all it's glory.

Titles are not issued to vehicles that old in this state. I could give you a bill of sale, which is all I got/needed to register it.

I should have some time to take the pics today or tommorrow.

decide to keep it?

Someone came to look at it and saw the M1028. They gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. It didn't really matter to me which one I sold since I wanted to use those 64s (thanks again) to SWB the rear anyways and put crossover on the front. I've got a Jeep (blasphemy, I know) that I can run in the meantime. I am just happy to have the space back right now. How's your project(s) going?

So you sold it with the lift and 36"s?
After all that work you did...:doah:

Wasn't that for the trail or are you building one for the trails?...I loose track with you. :p:

I think half the fun is building them anyways. When I get one done, I want to try something else. There is no end to this. But it is an adventure.
