Alright......some current progess on the Jimmy. Bought some parts off a fellow member here.
Extended brake lines
DIY 14 bolt diff cover
ORD bolt in brace & weld in plates
Brackets for 14B disk swap

Upon further inspection of my SBC i found a couple of spun bearings courtesy of the PO.

Since the motor needs some work and Dec.21 2012 "end of the world" was a flop, there is no reason now NOT to do a frame off...........

Removed the tub from the frame, pulled the interior to expose all the minor rust spots and out with the drivetrain.

Found a sweet deal on CL for a 89-91 front clip. I ended up buying the rad support, grill & wiring harness for $100.

Back from the sandblaster, got it setup & squirted a couple coats of epoxy
to protect the bare metal.

Next will be weld in the steering box plates, get the axles preped & painted along with the frame. Then onto the rust repair on the body.

Have you considered boxing the frame? These frames bend quite easy. Now would be a perfect time to do it...

Gonna buy the inner complete tail pan and then cut some sections of a bed floor to graft in the rotten section. Ill do step by step pics if that helps you out with yours.

Update pics...

Brought my Jimmy home to work on after hours & took my 70 GMC to the shop.

Bolted her together to make it easier to transport.



Installed the 91 rad support & grill


Got her home, built a structure to hold the tub & have access to the underside

Thanks man, still have lots to do on the '70 before its rolling. Ive put it on the back burner till the Jimmys complete. I have a '72 C10 SWB factory 402, im painting for a customer. Ill post a pic when complete.

Hell yeah.... usually im rockin the old skool hi top Vans, but since my passport has expired i haven't been stateside to the Vans outlet.

We do have Vans in Canada but the mark up is ridiculous


Picked up some rubber off CL today. $800 for 90%+ tread BFG KM2 315/75/16 or 34.6". Gonna remove the rims & go with series 186 eagle alloy

Tail pan arrived today, surprised because it came out of Calgary Alberta, a city that was flooded last week.

Gonna try to get the metalwork on the underside of the tub finished this long weekend. Then get her mounted back on the frame.

Thats if everything goes according to plan, which we know how that plays out.
