nice, keep it going man. Forget all that stuff like rear window and weather stripping, all that can be done after it's running around town and you have a smile on your face. Careful where the $$$ goes before it's gone and you can't get it going.

PS> I hate smog, but I feel for you guys with inspections. My AC/heat doesn't work.

My list to finish the truck :
Fix the horn and convert the bright beam switch to on the floor.
Order weatherstrip and new windshield
Replace battery
Bleed brakes

Rear ubolts

Crossover steering
flat top knuckles
2wd box/sector shaft
Frame brace

Blazer tank
Tires in the 35-36 range
Order 15x10 8 lug spare

Headers
Finish exhaust

Door panels
Herculine floor

Front axle is converted to 8 lug, bearings are packed, replaced hubs with some older style warn premiums, replaced bleeder screws and brake pads.started grinding calipers to fit 15 inch rims.

Picked up a 4.10 geared 14 bolt full float axle out of a 78 k30. Now I have to learn the ways of changing spring perches and shock mounts...which I have no clue about:confused:

Whenever I start the rear axle swap , I willl be installing an echobit shackle flip, poly spring bushings, (and a diy4x ez inch if need be).

Picked up some perches for the 14 bolt at 4wd factory and my conversion joint, just waiting on my straps and bolts. So hopefully I can finish cutting the old perches on Tuesday after my shift ends.

Got a new transfer case shifter, if I go to a floor shift I will get a matching one. What do ya'll think?

I really like the transfer case shifter knob. Any ideas or suggestions where I can get one made or purchase one from? Or any other unique ideas for a shifter knob?

I bought a dummy grenade and welded a nut to it that matched the thread of the shifter.

I'll have to find me one, and pray that its really a dummy one right before I strike an arc with the welder. :haha:

If I could do it again I would make shift rod thread into the grenade body, not just the nut.

And use either a baseball grenade or lemon grenade instead

How would that be done? Drill a hole in the bottom and then thread the hole that was drilled?

There is a hole already in the bottom of the dummy ones. In theory I would drill the hole out more to fit a piece of pipe just big enough to slide over the shift rod and weld a nut on top to thread to the shifter, slide the dummy grenade over the pipe, and weld the dummy grenade to the pipe.

You could also make one out of a spent 20mm shell casing.

Alright I preciate it! When I get some spare funds I'll pick me one up and let you know how that works or what I do differently

Conversion Joint is installed

Rear axle is out

Installed the hangers for my echobit shackle flip

Working on removing my old spring bushings and replacing them with poly ones, found out that the "kit" I ordered fits the spring eye bushings but are too big for the shackle bushing.....after i destroyed the old bushings removing them:doah:

Finally have the spring perches off the 14 bolt after cutting, grinding, and beating them with a sledge.....but I got it done. Now on to setting the new ones in since I'm out of time for this week till next tuesday.

Will try to post some pics in a few

14 bolt is slid under the truck (although not connected to anything)

shackle flip is started

pieced my front end back together

Pressed out the sleeves from the spring eyes today with the help of 77_Jimmy , his press , and a redneck fabrimicated tool. Now on to poly bushings and rebuilding my spring pack when my shackles get here.

Put seafoam in the gas tank, did an oil change and put Seafoam in with the oil, shaved the 14 bolt, replaced the gear oil in the differential. Put a new dipstick in.

Poly bushings installed into the spring eyes and DIY4X shackles, leaf springs mocked up.

Should have my spring perches done by the end with help from 77-jimmy and 4wd factory. Hopefully then I can move my truck around to work on.

Tacked the perches in and set pinion angle, but the bolts for the pinion yoke are too long...to the parts store I go. Time to find a mobile welder to finish the perches.

Also might have a line on K20 diesel at storage unit. It has a full float rear, diesel, straight cab and doors, 4speed, no bed. Maybe I can pick it up cheap if I can track down the owner.
