84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
Lolllll we get it all buttined up, back it out for the first time and go on a sloooowwww drive to the cult-de-sac. Steve goes "im gunna take it easy till i know everything is good" fast forward 7 seconds to me holding on for dear life. As Ethels rear end comes flying around
I thought 7 seconds was plenty of time to “know” it was good! And my foot slipped off the clutch, it was an accident I “swear”!!

Ok so I have been having stupid clutch disengagement issues since I put the AA bellhousing on. I don’t know what changed about the geometry but it has enough to require a longer throw out bearing. I have had to clearance the window for the stamped fork I use, and extend my clutch push rod to allow some disengagement. I’m not very happy to have to be modifying this crap when it could have been prevented when I put it in had I known it was different but I digress.. so I got a semi shiftable manual again and I got my new black widow venom 300 today and since I have the sweet 5 min muffler swap setup I put that bad boy on.. boyyyu oh boyyy does it sound awesome now!! Mmmmm mmm

Yes it did but I did not have the pivot adapters with me from the slave bracket so I had to use the stamped fork.
I measured the fork before I installed it and the length along with the angle matched.

I didn't have a rod that fit the AA clutch fork either so I made my own with a piece of threaded rod and some kind of flanged nut that I had laying around. I ground the hex down round so it fit in the hole in the clutch fork and then the flanged part pushed on the fork to actuate it.

I’ll post a pic of what mine has. Same bellhousing but the PO must have lost the stuff that came with it? I’m leaning toward an internal slave before I go any further on mine.

First time I've looked through this build...really cool!

Question, why didn't you try and run the stock NV4500 bell housing? Is it cause you wanted to keep the manual clutch linkage setup instead of go hydro clutch? (I may have missed it as I didn't read everything throughout the pages).

Also, quick question regarding your original drivetrain that was in this thing. Was this a factory 6.2/SM465/208 when you purchased it? I ask cause I was wondering if your NP208 was a factory 32 spline input in that year (making it that you were able to just unbolt the 208 from the SM465 and bolt it right on to the NV4500). I thought, even in the factory 3/4 ton versions in 1984 they were either the 10 or 27 spline SM465 versions.

Thanks!
