84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
I've kicked this idea back and forth for so many years. Just selling mine and starting with a new one.

But in the end I know I would sell a functional 7/10 and end up with a 9/10 that's completely not functional, and not even remotely close to finished with the allowed budget.

So I continue the trek into financial ruin with the same unit.

Is 550 to the tires with head and cam work? It took Cletus McFarland 17psi with a Texas speed cam and lots of head work to make 470 in his c6 vette, using a 5.3 truck motor. That being said they made 750 running 30 psi. Excited to see it play out. Turbos are cool

Hell yeah brother

Definitely where LS engines find their glory

Wonder if govment motors originally engineered them that way

Only because the factory fuel injection is good enough to support basic boost.
If gm tbi was worth anything and had ability to tune like an LS it would be different. And generally it seems like people don't want to mess with blow through carbs. LT1s get no love anymore.
TPI are the same, but I still like the way they look. To bad someone doesn't offer a plug n play harness/ computer for TPIs
Boost ready?
Or maybe someone does?

Damnit, now I want to build a boosted TPI.
:doah:

Now I want you to as well

Should work great. I looked into it when I bought the standard PF-4. 1100 CFM, but that's only 100 more than the standard

Looks cool though

If it looks cool it’s gotta be worth 10RWHP, I bet it even comes with stickers, in that case plus 10 more HP!

TPI engines can easily be converted to the 24x signal along with any GM/any engine technically.

Some are obviously more expensive than others, but it can be done. The TPI is a great candidate for an 0411 or DBW even based system should someone mount a 24x reluctor wheel to the crank. EFIConnection has the setup that could be mimiked.

And technically you don't need the 24x for the 0411. Just for CNP ignition. The 4x signal is already there should a single coil make you happy.
