84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
A 5.3 will tow 8k occasionally just fine. Sucks about your 6.2 though. Nothing worse than going backwards this far along.

I'd take an LS motor over a GM diesel any day and twice on sunday and I've got two diesel powered rigs in the driveway.

I wouldn't! But im not talking about a 6.2 or 6.5

Now that I've had a snickers, I want you to know I am happy for you. I just wish it could have worked out with the diesel. I also still think there is time to make it work, but I understand your decision. I rolled some coal last night in remembrance of our fallen diesel soldier.

Now, on to LS things.

Any additional horsepower adders going in or on?

My wife's 09 Tahoe has VVT, and I like it. She gets 17 in town and mid 20's on the highway. I imagine after the newness wears off, and she can keep her foot out of the throttle, that she will end up closer to 18-19mpg's in town. She still likes to smash the throttle and pass people on the way to work. She didn't have that option with the 4.0 Grand Cherokee lol.

My '00 gets 15mpg, but I drive like an idiot, so that's pretty good with my heavy foot.

Sounds like both of you need some new shoes...
