84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
Before you spend money on an app sensor check the wiring. I've seen our faith share of pedals fail here too, but I've seen just as many where it was a wiring issue too.

Two key points from the diagnosis is resistance on the circuits and the possibility of a short between app1 circuit and app2 circuit.

Resistance value for the three circuits to each sensor (low reference, signal and 5v) should be no greater than 5 ohms. High resistance will change your value and if the difference is high enough between app1 and app2 this code sets. This can be a wiring issue or poor connection at either end. We've seen fretting corrosion on terminals (white crusty stuff) that will effect the values. Cleaning the terminals and some dielectric grease usually corrects the corrosion.

Checking for continuity between any of the circuits is the second item to look for. There should be none.

If the circuits have good resistance and no continuity to each other, then replace the pedal.
I have checked it and replaced the entire strand of wiring for each connection in that circuit. But I will double check it to be sure there isn’t some new issue I missed.

Seen plenty of issues with spread terminals in the connectors too. Also if you have any connections between the pedal and ecm or throttle body and ecm like where you put a new pigtail on, they absolutely need to be soldiered.

Because Lucy is awesome... thats how! @bergerking

I pulled the 10 bolt I have been saving out of the back, dropped the cover and cleaned it out. there is some minor surface rust on on part of the ring gear, i think some water got in there but whatever. I cleaned it up best i could, this is a 4:10 gearset so it matches the back. Ill move over the knuckle from the current 10 b and get these rotors surfaced and then sling it under ethel so i have operable 4wd!

Waahhtt??!!!

I pulled the spiders out night before last because I was feeling it sort of lock up, I see some not great looking stuff in there, the rest looks fine but the spider gear is worn or the bearing it’s on is.. I’m gonna examine it further to see if there is a root cause

That sounds like the symptom of too many one wheel peels
