84CUCVs M1008 Build

been here a while now.. im building this to keep.. starting with a 800 doller 86 m1008 rack body from the forest fire company in north nj. . 58k on few dents bit of rust not to bad. nice truck over all.. first 2 pics are when i got it. 3 and 4 are how it is now. started to take off some of the things off the forest fire service put on. things i dont need or want. starting this a bit late but ill get it done.. few pics.. have some parts in the mail.. getting u bolts bent monday morning.. getting something going finally. will update as i go

some of the parts i have

1: 37" hummer tires. pretty much new and cheap.. so why not. i plain to grove them..

2:new 4" TC spring.. tried selling them.. wish i just rebuilt 52" springs

3: radio set up..

4:ORD flip, steering brace, front shackles, pro comp brake lines. seem to be made ok. they were free so i cant complain. 6.2 block heater

5: auto meter gauges i got form a cj-5 i had for a while.. pretty much new.. one has a dent as you see.

6: NP241 from a old suburban a friend scraped. gave it to me.. plain to make it a fixed yoke.

7: Hella lights.. weld on steering brace, zero rates, ord crossover, diy pinon guard

That was a M1031 when it had the contact cab :thumb:

M1008's are long bed w/ NP208's with standard suspension and open front end. M1028's are the longbeds w/ NP208's, 5/4 ton rear springs, and limited slip front end. M1028a1 are M1031's converted to long bed and still retain the NP205 and 5/4 ton springs, and limited slip front end. M1031's used the NP205 because it can be used for PTO applications. Clear as mud lol. Doesn't matter what it is in the end anyways, I call mine a K30.

Nice choice in vehicle, CUCV's are the **** :woot:We still have a few in service up here.
 
it had the old m880 dodge body on the back.. they made it fit.. looking forward to starting this..
 
well got a little more done. all this time later.. got a bed finally...
 
Sweet!! I found a nice CUCV blazer today. never seen one up here in person. Wanted like $4000 for it though,

This should be a sweet build, I love these things!!
 
thanks guys... they are good trucks. from what i have been reading. you want one start looking.. they are running out.

waiting on few other small things. hope to have them by Wednesday
