I haven't decided if I want to put my Dana 44 in with the 410s and Detroit to match the rear and run it awhile or if I wanna go straight to my one tons which I want to do eventually anyway but I think I wanna re build them re gear to something like 488s and add some kind of traction aids

I'm thinking I wanna run some 37in. Military tires because they are plentiful and cheap but I was originally thing some 38/11 wide swampers and just keep with my lift I've got
.

Save that rear heater, kind of rare.

If you are going to go with a bigger axle then don't spend your money fixing broke smaller ones.

barn doors rule... :pimp:

welcome to the show... :D

well the nice part is the front dont need anything its all new i just need to get it in and the extra traction would be nice while im collecting parts for the 1ton swap, i think im gonna put it in while ive got it in the shop changing my trans :D

hey guys was just thinking an iron block 5.3 swap would be awesome and its actually pretty darn affordable im thinking a 5.3/400/205 is in the future oh yea!!!

Why do all the work of a swap and still have a 3-speed when you're done? There are some nice aspects to having a more modern transmission. And your 5.3 may even come attached to one...

why a 400?

campfire i will agree that there is much to be gained from a modern transmission but being that BIG BURBON is gonna just be my toy im not really worried about being able to drive it down the highway and i should have clarified that im thinking a carbd 5.3 (dont really wanna mess with all wiring and everything at this time) and i guess im thinking of the strength and simplicity of the th400 but it gonna be a while before anything happens on this subject so who knows what might change :waytogo:

Haven't really done anything with the burb in quite a while but after some looking around again on here I've got some more motivation

so before long I'm diving back in first thing on the list is pull the trans and get my other one in then I think I'm gonna put my headers intake and cam to it still not 100% sure on what I wanna do with the carb yet

And probably swap my other 6lug under it for now

Yea it does and I've got one in my shed right now waiting to go back in, just waiting on some funds to get some stuff done on it

Yea it went out on me after a camping trip this last year I didn't realize the guy that put the 454 in left the small block radiator I think it overheated the fluid so now it sits

Nice burb. Kinda familiar build to what i have going on. I dig it.

Rear heater is a toss up. Seems down here every burb has them.

Thanks not much is getting done here for a while funds have run short but after pestering the wife last night convinced her to work my projects in the budget so the classic hauler needs a few more things to be road worthy then on to the big burb

OK so I've ditched the 5.3 idea, I've got the rear end and matching front sold to a buddy of mine, unfortunately it still is just sitting, been working on the classic hauler lately and cancer struck my wife so things haven't really been moving much.
Needing to get some parts ordered so I can at least get the one tons under it pretty obvious it's gonna a while before it really gets anywhere
