I priced out a crate motor for my 86 and they wanted over 2000. But the one for an 85 is only 1400. I know the rear main seals are different. So do just get a new flywheel for an 85 to? and is the harmonic balancer the same as well? Anything else I need to look out for?
I searched a lot and did not find exactly what I was looking for 86 is a weird year new rear main seal but still carb.

The 85-86 engine has a neutral balance harmonic balancer but the 1986 uses a different flexplate with a smaller bolt circle and it is external balanced unlike the 1985 and earlier SBC's which are internal balanced.
