Ok guys, sorry to be the guy with all the questions, but I just got my rebuilt steering column in the mail, and I'm going to do the removal/replacement myself. It looks pretty simple, but I want to make sure I do it right. Anyway, it looks like there's a couple of bolts on the column, another under the hood at the linkage, and some wiring harnesses I pull off the old and onto the new. That sound about right? This is for tilt steering, with wiper controls on the stalk, and a manual tranny. Any tips/help would be great.

Sounds like you got it.

There are 2 bolts to remove right behind the dash plate. I think they are 15mm
At the firewall there are 6-8 bolts to remove. All 10mm.
Then the one to connect the column to the shaft.

Well, I've got the old column out right now. Any suggestions on things I can do now that the column is out (aside from a good dusting)? Do I need to lube up anything on the new column before I install it?

On a side note, when I engage the 4x4, the "choke" light instead of the "4x4" light used to come on. No big deal, but what do I do to fix it now that there's space to work?

Well, I got it in. Wasn't too bad. The hardest part was unhooking the wiring harnesses- that was a pain in the a$$! Anyway, everything is cool, but I did have one problem. I freaking broke the turn signal stalk!!! WTH do I do now?
