Well with a little help from a friend I went to see this K30.

It is an 85 with 21000 on the odometer. ( I am sure it is at least 121,000 miles)

Fresh 454 with a high rise intake and tri Y headers and air injection so it will pass smog.

He says that it is an old "federal" truck that came from the forest service or something like that. It has air, pw, pdl, carpet. It is a Silverado.

Asking $2,900.00 I think that he will let it go for $2,500.00

Nice Tom. You better grab it. I will help you with whatever help you need. I love that.

that thing is badass. hell, Id even do the $2900 on the thing.

if it was a federal truck wouldnt it be emissions exempt?

The owner has stated something about that. I don't know if that meens no smog, or what. But, it is sweet. If Tom does get it. Be ready for a build thread.

He said that it passed emissions so I guess he needed to to get plates for the truck.

BONUS! No cats on this truck and it still passed.

Thats whats awesome about those trucks, I guess bc of the gvw and year they didnt put cats on them. My '86 dually crew cab came with no cats and factory dual exhaust!

Ok, I have a bit of a dilema here. Help me out here guys.

I realize how good of a deal this truck is for $2,900.00, but the ad in our camera ad magazine has had a price of $2,000.00 for this truck for the last two weeks.

The current owner did tell me on the first phone contact that the price in the book was not correct and that he said it was a typo and that the price was supposed to be listed at $2,900.00 and that he needed to call Camera ads and correct the typo.

Well we talked early enough in my opinion that he could have called in time to have the price corrected in his ad before the printing this week. With the price still listed at $2,000.00 I think that I could hold him to that price.

I do not intend to push this situation until I am standing in front of him with cash in my pocket because I don't want to see the truck go to anyone else or have him tell me to pound sand if I address this on the phone.

What say the brotherhood? Help a guy out and pay what he is asking verbally or run the risk of feeling like I was taken advantage of because he saw a chance to make more off a guy that wants his truck?

say 2000 in person and if he says pound sand then offer to negotiate up to 23 hesitantly. If he still says no then very hestitantly offer 25 as your final offer. either way it looks like a :deal:

Off work already? Nice. Go get that truck! You need a ride? You can drive us up and get it, I will drive it home for you:D

You can do whatever you want as far as offers, but he can also do whatever he wants. He can also refuse to sell to anyone he chooses as a private individual. You can try to lowball or keep pointing out the ad, but (without knowing the guy) you might piss him off. I'm sure a truck like that will sell fairly quick at either price mentioned.

Nice truck...

Seriously, the truck looks like its worth the $2,900, whether the ad is wrong or not. If you have driven it and tested everything to make sure all works, you should not feel taken at that price.

I called him last night. No anwser. Wanted to check the price to see what he would say about the wrong price listed.

If you really want it, quit dicking around and show up with cash....

Otherwise this will end up as another "Oh man, someone snaked my Craigslist deal"-type thread... and nobody wants that. :D

:usaflag:

Yah, on something else, i might try and hold him to the fire. But really, on something you want this bad, that is the wrong approach. Show up with his asking price in cash, bring him a 6 pack, and beg for forgiveness.

Hopefully you come home with a truck.
