Well I bought my Blazer 6 months ago and have now just decided to create a build thread.

Just a little back ground: I'm a huge Jeep guy and have been without one for a few years. Living on the gulf coast I've always enjoyed having a vehicle with a removable top and I've always love "mudding". After a few years without a jeep my wife and I decided it was time to finally get another weekend warrior. I searched high and low for a jeep and when I saw my blazer for sale I knew I had to have it. I planned a birthday trip for my wife to Austin, TX and we stopped and bought the blazer on our way home. It was pretty convenient. :wink1:

Here is what she looked like the day we brought her home. Once purchased I decided she was to nice to be "I don't give a fock" vehicle and I was gonna take good care of her. I'm going to leave it mostly stock except for a 4" lift and tires. Just a heads up I'm a picture whore and expect to see a lot of pictures.

The first thing I did when I got home was remove the stock running
Boards. I'm interested in selling them if anybody wants them. Not willing to ship. I live in the Houston area.

Took the top off and went to the beach. If was the first time "off-road" and testing out the 4wd. I even pulled an F-150 out that was stuck.

I did quite a few things to the blazer this weekend but I just got a new iphone5 and the camera doesn't work.

Some of the recent things I've got done were the drag link and tie rods, heater core, and drain and fill transmission.

Took the girls (my wife and dog) down the beach to have dinner on the tailgate.

That thing is clean. Very nice.

For the most part she is pretty clean for a 25 year old vehicle. It has a few rust spots and I think it has been repainted. She looks best 20 feet away and in pictures lol. I would feel a lot better had I paid about $1000 less for it but when you want something you've gotta pay for it.

The blazer isn't in the condition I want it to be before I take it mud riding but I did have to get out and lock the hubs yesterday. The Michelin Mall-Terrains just don't get the job done.

Not having a working radio in the blazer finally took its toll on me. I dropped it off this morning a the local stereo shop and had a cd player and some 6x9s installed. I had the cd player put in the center console so I could keep the "look" of the factory radio on they are cutting the side panels in front of the back seat for the 6x9s. Will post pictures once I pick it up.

My father in law and brother in law are in town for Christmas. We hit a small mud hole on the way to the local ice house. Trailer hitch almost had me calling for help. I managed to get her out.

I decided to get some exhaust put on it today. I went to the local muffler shop and told them to put a 3 chamber flowmaster on it. They said all they had was a 2 chamber and it would be $120 I said put it on. 25 minutes later I'm driving out. I get 50 feet down the road and I decide I wasn't happy. I went back and told them I felt like it sound like the stock muffler is still on it. They proceed to explain that my engine isn't a loud engine and the only other thing to do would be true duals or glass packs. I told him I was disappointed and I was just going to leave it alone.

Should I go back and have them true dual it?

I don't have any after photos because I took it off-road right afterwards lol sorry.

After calling around to a few more muffler shops I decided to put a magna flow high flow cat on. I had a shop order it and went and had it out on. These guys were a lot cooler then the shop who put the muffler on and they let me hear it before the welded it up. I'm a lot happier with the way it sounds versus just the 2 chamber flowmaster they put on.
