imiceman44 submitted a new Build:

85 k5

So in my dealings I ended up with an 85 k5 that is unsmogable in California but has a clean body/frame.
It already has a 4" lift and 35" tires.
Axles are geared insanely tall at 2.73:1
At this point I sold the engine and used the transmission as a core.
I am going to build my suburban with a bbc and I can use the 89 5.7tbi and 700r4 that is in it now in this k5.
The plan, if I proceed with it, is to make it running, take it to moab and have fun in it then come back here and sell it to help fund the suburban build.
It will get a new tag after a referee checks it and it will be an 89 level smog.

So the idea is to do a quick build to get it running and get a trip to moab, still debating if I put a doubler in it or not.
I could put a doubler I already have and keep the gears in it or do a stock transfer case and change the axles.
It has an np208.
If I keep it stock I don't need to touch the driveshafts so the build will be really quick.

doubler or axles?? what did you decide?
Still undecided.
I have other irons on the fire that is why I put this out there.
I ultimately would sell the rolling truck but I will not part it out.
It's rust free and I see way too many rust buckets being resurrected this has to stay in use.

So I will most likely put the tbi350/700r4 from the suburban in it and sell it.
Hopefully someone will keep it on the road.
