Rear view mirror camera, which sounds like we're gona move it already. Didn't think about it when I was welding the mounting tab but the rear window is a slider so the camera will be right behind the seal at the center.

This one is mounted on the Wraptor crossmember facing rearward at the rear tires.

Did you run out of the shock travel in the rear?

I always have when mounting shocks like that. Great way to mount em for sure. Just need a longer shock :D

Looks cool man

I have a chubby! Sorry. I love it, lots of work left I can see. Looking killer!!!! I need those cameras and monitor. That's on my to do list. I can't see crap!!!! What shocks are those? Are they just for mock up or is he going to upgrade them a bit. You have the bumps set perfect!

They are just the cheap-o pro-comps. They will be swapped out at some time for something better.

They are maxed out, stupid amount of travel anyway.

So badass!!! Are you going to leave the u-bolt plates as is? Or put some sort of smooth contact pad for the bump to hit? I have some pics of how I did mine in my build thread

We're getting close to putting some color on the rear portion. Started stripping the bed Sunday. Got some welding to finish up on the way stripping it down and some mounts to build that were put on hold till we could get some things out of the way. Once those are done, we'll be painting the bed and getting some powder coating done.

In the meantime, a hood to build and an inter cooler to figure out for the front end.

Time to start getting things wrapped up on the trail bed.

Last two projects were the main leaf storage area and high lift mount. Much easier to do with the bed off the truck. Took some measurements and pulled the bed.

Simple mounting point in the center. Had considered making it a "toolless" mount however, if you're needing to get the main leaves out, you probably are gona have tools nearby so I kept it simple. Stud in the center and some pieces on the ends to keep the leaves from rotating on the stud. Just enough room for 4 main leaves.

Then we moved on to the high lift mount. Couple pegs for the foot to rest on,

Simple wing nut mounting for the other end.

A bit of weld splatter removal and loaded it up in the crew cab. Drop it off in the morning.

You buy beer and.....

kert and stomper, this thing looks so wicked. It just screams STEEL and MERICA. Cant wait to see it wheeling.

Everytime I get a big piece like this blasted by my guys, when I pick it up and driveaway, I feel guilty as a thief.

$50.00 to blast it.

Followed MNorby's cue with the paint and did the brush on hammered in black. 1 1/2 quarts got 2 good thick coats on it.

Shop is pretty cool these days, gona take a bit to dry. Metal itself was 64* when the paint was applied. Ambient was 62*. Just enough to kick it off.

Get some pics of that when I get a chance.

On average, the tubing measures .010" thicker than bare. Overall impression with the brush on technique,

I'm pretty happy with it. It was a bit more time consuming than I had anticipated. What can you say, round tubing is a pain to paint no matter, spray or brush. If I were to do it again, and I would, i'd have a couple cans of aerosol to get some of the hard to reach spots. I think i'd also have set up a better way to rotate and move the piece to get the underside. With a brush, the paint likes to roll down the brush onto your hand. To get it on thick to really make the hammered effect jump out, you need to apply it fairly heavily which makes things a bit messier.

Downside with this paint is recoat after the initial 4 hours is 7 days!!!

I've been doing everything with it since I discovered it

I wish they had white though

I still find spots I missed even after touching up a few times though :haha:

Finally got together with a powder coating guy local to me. Tonight I can drop off a bunch of aluminum and get the powder coating rolling along.

On the rig itself, rear brake lines are the flavor of the day. Once that's done I can get the rear half of the frame painted.

From there i'm looking forward to getting the inside of the cab painted and rhino lined.

Not much fabrication left. Hood, grille, and the intercooler. Just not 100% sure how I want to do any of the three. One of those, roll it around in your head while working on other things.
