'85 on big tars.(pics & video)

Got some front brake line work done today. Had plans to do some painting but my surface temps were pretty low. All the parts I wanted to paint, I had forgotten to get in out of storage so they could warm up.

Maybe tomorrow I can get back to some painting.

your like the energizer bunny Kert....I did'nt get my engine out today...:doah:

Ya know, I can't tell you where the drive is coming from lately but its there. I had to build a bumper today so I did that first but really wanted to get back in on the truck. Bumper went together like butter so it wasn't long and I was bendin' lines.

You'll get it out Dave. You got that certain kinda stubborn that we were talkin' about.

Bottom of the cab is in bedliner. I went with the 3M bondo brand that I have used in the past. Only because i'm familiar with it and it has never let me down.

Never done the bottom of a cab before. That brought on its own set of interesting challenges. None the less its got a good solid coat on it.

Also got the rear bumper painted and one crossmember for the bed that I had done in aerosol black before. The quart black is very much different from the aerosol so that had to be redone.

Got word from the powder coater today. The aluminum panels and tool box should be done by the end of the day. Hope to start bolting them on this week. We are just a short few days from having the cab and bed back on the chassis.:woot:

Made up a support bracket for a radiator hose today, bolted in a crossmember on the bed and got the fuel sending unit mounted in the tank. Is the arm that comes with the universal sending units always to short??

Front half of the chassis got painted today and I picked up the powder coated parts. Pics coming tomorrow!

Kert use the remainder of that unit we put in my tank...we had to cut off a few inches remember...I'm sure its still laying on the floor somewhere...:haha::haha::haha:

I must have enough familiarity with the parts and a large enough RC parts knowledge deficit to not see the resemblance.

They look like Brett's aluminum panels to me.:dunno::D

me too, but I don't play with RC's so what would I know....

get your heat going yet?

Had to take a couple steps back on the bed. Turns out some of the panels have a specific order for installation that must be observed. Not to bad though. Extra hour work and the problem was straightened out.

All that is really needed at this time to set the cab back on the frame is some shift rail pull points for the cables.
