'85 on big tars.(pics & video)

Sorry no photo updates but we have made some small progress.

All cab metal has been repaired.
Steering ram mount is welded in place.
Bed mounts are finished.
Fire extinguishers are mounted up.

To do list is getting short.

Dash
steering column
Battery box
air tank mounting
rear shock upper mounts
front end body panels
front light mounting

Might add a small roof rack of some sort.

That's the short list before tear down for paint and powder coating.

Thanks. Gona work out pretty nicely.

Working on the dash now. Got the layout together and got some cutting done.

Got a pile of dashes to do so I'll work it in with those.

The steering column for this one is an interesting piece. Hope it work with the dash without to much interference.

Sounds like you're busy... :D

Yeah, stayin' pretty busy. Put in a 7 hour shift today and got some things tidied up for the week ahead.

Always some dashes, tube doors and the like working their way through the system.

Not to mention, yesterday we finally had time to put on a new front door. Kind of a silly story.

Couple weeks ago, 9 minutes after I left the shop somebody in our sleepy little town decided the shop was on fire. Called the Fire Dept. They responded and kicked the front door in to investigate. There was no fire. Our incinerator was putting out some smoldering smoke. Basically done burning before I left.

Glad they responded but sucks they ruined my door for nothing. Now I have a nice new steel door. I hope they can kick it in if needs be.

Got a little further today.

Finished off the Fire extinguisher mounting.

Spent some time on the aluminum dash. Notching around the roll cage is always a bit tedious. It's a difficult thing to measure for. Usually cutting cautiously and on the small side is the best method. Still takes a while.

Almost in at this point. Just a little more clearancing to do on the passenger side.

Got the trail bed attached to the sliders with a disconnectable tube. Still debating another pair of tubes at the top, through the roof.

Thanks guys! Truly appreciate the kind words.:thumb:

you stole my dash gauge layout man

i want my reperations :sign18:

HA! Not me, Stomper stole that. I got the best of both worlds on this one. Blame that stuff on Stomper and take credit for the new fab work.:woot:

Had to do a little backtracking this past weekend. Decided to change the seating position a bit.

One bar had to come out of the cage and all new mounting tabs will have to be figured.

Some steering column changes.

I think we're due for a little update on this one.

Radiator is mounted finally. Got some battery boxes mounted. Rear shock mounts are done as a preliminary. Gona have to twist it up to make sure before we weld 'em solid.

Working on seat mounting tabs now and some steering column stuff.

Gona clear some of the tools tomorrow and take a few photos.

Fan shroud/mount is next on the list along with trans cooler mounting.

Intake tube on the 6BT where it bolts to the intake itself needs to be reconstructed to achieve a little more height. We need to turn it 180* and bring the air in from the turbo up and over the valve covers. We're working on that piece now as well. Should take much to put that together.

can't wait to see little shrek dudes truck again!

A couple shots of the rad mounting,

the windstar fan shroud won't be use and contemplating swapping to a different fan all together. Not making that decision yet though.

The battery mount tray, It's just ahead of the radiator but behind the tool box.

One of the bed mounts kinda bothered me. Tall, skinny... It wasn't going to be a problem but I just couldn't leave it alone,

Workin' on some storage space for a full set of main leafs... Just in case,

Might have already posted a pic of the floor tins but if not, here's one that was on the camera.

Isn't it a 4bt? regardless, I would try to put a small intercooler in. Should have room up front with the radiator in the rear

Non intercooled vs intercooled originally shouldn't matter if it's been modified at all

Nope its a 6BT. the 4 was taken out when the tires went from 42's to 49's.

Brett can you make it to The shop on the 22-24th?
Be good to see you again
