'85 on big tars.(pics & video)

Not much new to report tonight. Got some small items finished off whilst waiting for a few heim joints to show up.

Found a couple spots on the frame where holes were needed for bolts. Got them drilled and the bolts in place. Few other small issues like that.

Transfercases filled with gear lube. Keeping in mind, the cab still is not on the frame so most of these tasks right now are dead simple. Very nice to be able to walk up to the frame and perform the task at hand.

I don't think i'll ever build another truck without stripping it down to the bare frame and build up from there.

ditto Kert...the older you get the more sense it makes!

Cable shifters are done.

Next portion of the list:

Cab on frame
rear window
trail bed

From there things open up a bit and we can get alot of things put back together real quick.

have you had any more thoughts of the intake/turbo piping/intercooler yet?

Yep, lots of thoughts and somewhat of a plan. Just haven't pulled the trigger on any of it yet.

Cab is back on the frame this evening as well as the trial bed and the majority of the aluminum panels are back on as well. Really lookin' good.

Now there are alot of things we can work on again without having to follow a certain assembly order.

Started in on the cab floor bedliner this evening. Ran out of bedliner just short of completion. Seems the floor is a bit more complex and it just didn't go far enough.

Guess i'll have to get another gallon.:doah:

Kert can you get some shots of it after drying? How are you applying it?

rollers and brushes. Didn't want to try spraying anything around the cage and such. It's really not rolling out very well. Just plain not enough material. Trying to apply it thin just doesn't work very well.

Won't be any pics for a while. Photo black out.:D

It's lookin' dead sexy though.

So today Jimmy and I finished off bolting the cab and bed down. Had to make sure everyting was lining up properly before things got torqued down.

Bolted on the shock absorbers, got the aluminum water lines back in place. Last few bolts for the aluminum panels were put in place. Rear bumper was bolted on. Winch was bolted down and the front and rear glass were installed.

The glass was a pain to be sure. Ended up having to call in a friend who is a professional body man. I didn't feel to bad about giving up on the project when he had a struggle with the seals. Seemed like they were just to damn big. In the end my body man won the day and got them in. It's those little tools, techniques and the years of experience that sometimes make all the difference.

Coming up next,

Batteries
plumbing connections
drivetrain breathers
Dash install

Didn't get much done this weekend. Christmas shopping and all that to be done.

We did however, bolt a couple main leafs into the storage spot. Put the high lift jack in its position and put the spare 14BFF shafts in there spot.
