'85 on big tars.(pics & video)

looks mean

How far is the axle forward? Is it just normal b52 mounts and a zero rate?

Kert/Brett, can you get some pics of the intake/turbo/intercooler piping...and also the exhaust side of the turbo? My curiosity is running wild.

It's a custom 52, there is an e-z inch and i'm thinking it's forward like 7 1/2". It's been a while but i think that is correct.

None of that exists:haha::haha:

yet:laugh:

Once again, not a lot of updates. Been super busy at the shop which hasn't left much time for anything else.

Only thing remaining for plumbing is the cutting brake. That has to wait for shifter mounting so we can figure the best location for it. Working on that now as well as a center box under the dash where all the electrical connections and control will happen.

Won't be long and i'll need a weekend and some extra hands to wire it up.

I don't know if i mentioned it or not but I ran short on bed liner. Been waiting for a couple weeks now for another kit. I'm sure the holidays are slowing that down.

Only thing left at that point will be a hood, turbo intercooler and piping.

So very close but I don't think we'll quite make it by the end of the month.

Sorry, pics kinda suck. All i had with me lately is the cell phone.

Got the Electrical distribution box done. Gona get sent off to Mrk5 here in the next day or so.

Had a bit of a set back today. Not sure how I overlooked it. There is a bar for the cage that goes over the top of the "console" floor plate that has not been installed yet. Forgot all about it. Building mounts for the shifters and figuring where they go and bam it hits me. With the bar bolted in, none of what I have built is gona work. Back to the drawing board.

Got shifter mounts happenin' as well as the cutting brake levers. Brett came up yesterday for a final fitting. Placement of all the levers (6) was finalized and another floor mod was in order.

We got that knocked out and I cut a new floor plate today. Tomorrow I'll get the last of the mount work finished up and grab you guys some pics. I think Brett could just about rebuild the tcases from the drivers seat.

rebuild from the seat....like the idea!

6 shifters...want to see that in there!

Well, actually 4 shifters and 2 cutting brake levers. Either way it looks like a skid loader inside. Just more comfy.

A view from the passenger side.

Lastly, a shot of the floor between the seats with the floor panel removed. Lots of room.

Since the photos, we worked with putting in some threadserts and just got my ass handed to me. They just didn't want to work. Borrowed a threadsert tool from a friend and walla. Just need a different tool apparently. Trans shifter riser was welded to the floor plate. A few more threadserts tomorrow and the seats will come back out.

Finish up the bedliner on the floor and rock sliders and the interior is ready to reassemble for the final time. Looking forward to stickin' some gauges in and get to some final wiring.:thumb:

Yep, digging that Kert....the removable panel is pretty sweet...would be much easier to do little things from above...like fill the t/c's! looks awesomerest!

Bed liner is done and that's the game for this year.

Install cutting brake and finish brake lines
Reinstall floor panel and connect shift cables (trans and tcase)
Seats and harnesses

Install elec. distribution box and wire it up! (this one really deserves its own list)

Fabricate full hydro res. and install
Plumb full hydro steering

Fabricate radiator overflow tank and install.

Built tube doors, paint and install.

Turbo intercooler????
Fabricate hood.

Probably more but that's what hits me right now.

Is that winters shifter mount something you think you may mass-produce at a later date?

I was achin' to finish the install on the shifters, seats and harnesses tonight but the temp of the shop is slowin' the cure time for the bed liner. Some spots where its a touch thicker are still softer than i'd like to see before climbing around in there.

My son has his car in the shop now with a leaking head gasket. 1999 firebird.

That has got to be one of the most miserable engine compartments to work in. I don't think its possible to get the heads off with the engine in the car.

firebird / Camaro of that vintage basicly stupid easy to drop the sub frame all in 1 and lift body off. then bolt back on and bleed the brakes and go .

seen it done a lot .
