'85 on big tars.(pics & video)

Hope to have the hot box mounted tomorrow. If i'm really lucky, the turbo actually piped in to the intake.

You have to have the charge cable connected. We took a voltage reading before connecting it to the system. At that time it read 29 volts on the output cable. That being the case, we were a bit hesitant to hook up the cable. Today I disconnected all the sensitive electronic equipment and hooked it up and took a new reading. Now its at 14.7 volts.

I'm just not to familiar with the dodge charging system so learning as we go. I'd rather be cautious and not fry a bunch of gauges.

Right on that!:waytogo: I got some learning to do as well!

We finally got the hot box mounted up and spent some time machining up some custom turbo connections. If things go well tomorrow, we'll have the turbo plumbed to the intake.

As of right now, I can't see any reason this rig won't be done in the 2014 calendar year. Possibly in November yet.

Pics comin' up.

OK, so what this is, is an aluminum box that the turbo output will be plumbed into on the passenger side. There are some walls and such inside the box that force the air to move around inside before it gets to the port that takes it into the intake of the engine. It's not going to cool the air as well as an intercooler would but with what limited space we have it'll get the job done. If we were planning to run down the highway pulling a load, I don't think this would be adequate at all. For low speed crawlin' around, it'll work.

If you find you need more cooling when you do get it done, think about water/meth injection.

got a bottom side view of the hotbox?

got a bottom side view of the hotbox?

Nope, I don't. It's nothing to fancy. The ports are 2.5" OD aluminum tubing sticking out the bottom plate of the box. The input side is at an angle.

The tubing itself has a swell at the very end to help keep the silicone hose on. Basically a tig weld bead and then buffed down just a bit.

Turbo is connected! Another one off the list.

And not 5 minutes after these videos were shot, I believe the power steering pump shelled out again.

This pump was bone stock brand new.:dunno:

Today the steering was back. Wierd stuff happening.

That truck is such a badass
Nice execution DIY4X!
Bretts gotta have a huge grin!
Definitely a GMOTM good choice!

Wonder if the by pass in the pump got stuck...

Found a small leak in one of the front brake lines today and another on one of the hydraulic steering lines. I think I got those tightened up.

Brake line fitting, the hex completely broke off of the fitting on the brake line. Not stripped off but separated from the threaded portion of the fitting. Never seen that happen before.

what are you using for hydro lines?
