Regular hydraulic lines.
I did that on my brothers truck several years ago.
We got a start on the belly skid today. Didn't get alot of time on it but formulated some ideas and got a few pieces tacked together. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have it ready to weld.
difficult to come up with support in all the right places without giving up to much ground clearance or getting in the way of something else.

Should have it painted tomorrow, maybe installed maybe the next day. It's a heavy SOB. I think we effectively lowered the COG.
Good news is that is the truck ever ends up on its lid, you could cook up a few steaks on that thing while you waited for help!

I never thought about rolling my truck over to work on it.
How else do you put an 81lbs. skid plate on? You pick it up and set it down... obviously

That would be easier though. We were gona use the jack axle saddle to put it up there but Dave thought he'd just hold it with his knees. I still think it would have been a bit simpler with the jack but, never the less, its on.

so, are one troublesome brake line is still leaking. I'm inclined to leave it for now till I can get a decent flaring tool. The brakes do a pretty good job of stopping it, it drips just slightly when you press the brake pedal.
Aside from that, we're working on the air intake filter housing and intake tubing.
So far, all we have is 4 sides of the box that the filter sits in. Hope to have all six sides early next week and the box hooked to the turbo. From there we'll have to order some 4" aluminum bends to craft the rest of the snorkel set up.

Nope, this one is a standard steel line. It has/had a really large hex on it compared to what I'm used to but other than that, looks like pretty standard stuff.

How long has it been in the making?
Well, this thread was started in 2007. I know Brett was working on it before that. I think it started out as a show truck build. Then it went to a crawler on 42's with a 4bt. Then the 6bt went in and the 49's.
Beyond that I can't remember. It's been a while. I was gona get it out of the shop and drive it around a little bit today but just didn't have enough time.
