85 Suburban. Back in the shop

I'm dealing with the same thing on my 75 Corvette. I have them all out except one. I had to really creative to get 2 of them out. Nothing easy about working on a vette

That's funny The same one is spinning on my truck. What do you recommend for a attack?

On the rear body mounts. There was a dimple in the floor. I tried a hole saw, but didn't work. Then just used a cut off wheel.

Had to remove carpet to get to it, but now, I think I'm just going to take carpet out

The body bushings? I've never removed on one, but there are captured nuts in the fiberglass body...yuck,
You may be doing fiberglass work huh

Yep, body bushings. Sad thing, this car only has 42k on it. It sat in the garage in Illinois for 20 years without ever being moved or started. It's all tore down now. Everything rubber is trash

The body mounts and spacers are in. Nothing spectacular about the burb right now. It's a bit higher.
Now I really feel ready to start sliders and bumpers.

just whoring a pic cuz I'm.board....pad

Looking awesome. What kind of rear bumper are going to make? Is it going to hold a spare on it? I wi ll be making sliders and a rear bumper soon also. Can't wait to see your design!!

So, the list continues, but with things to do at home and customers cars I haven't had much time to work ok the Big One. Ahh,,, I want to work on it so bad, but can't find the time to.concentrate one one thing at the moment. Also just spent a buttload of cash on house.

Needs,
-TH400 with 203/205 doubler installed
-Figure out shifters with seat
-new 1410 series drive shafts
-Shocks and mounts
-limit straps

-Front and back bumpers
-Install winches
-sliders

Progress is slow, but I'm still happy I have it

As of now My plan on the back is to incorporate a rear 12k winch, spare tire swing out carrier, jack and fuel can storage.

My brain hurts thinking about it, but I have some ideas.

I actually can't wait to start the rear bumper projects because I actually want to do the work. But don't want to start the project until I have at least 2 days to focus on it clear.

All of my yard work is done for a while. I'm stuck in the house with the kids while my wife is in Lincoln, NE at Speed Skating Nationals. I don't trust a 3 & 7yr old to be in the house while I'm out front working or welding

Awesome build, I just picked one up myself and am looking forward to begin the process. Time to empty the wallet...

Time to revive this one and light a fire... Snows coming, mines gettin closer to beat-able... We gotta do something on these over Christmas break at least!

Ok, so that little test yesterday had me thinking about shocks and bump stops. So I took off the front shocks and grabbed a tape measure and now ready to see what shocks I will need.

The rear isn't as flexy I was thinking, but they are still stock leafs with nothing removed. I wanted to see how stock worked before I removed anything.

It was good because I was able to see the steering want to hit the leaf spring.

I'm happy with it for now.

Any thoughts from the more experienced?

I run the 56"/63". I too thought the 63" would flex more but the overload is preventing the flex. Im thinking about adding a few leafs and taking out the rear overload.

Aww yeah. I hate having this on the back burner for so long but ya gots to do what ya gots to do ya know.

Today I even looked at the doubler and said I should just throw that in. But, I didn't and I walked away. Wifes ride needs to come 1st

Yeah I kind of thought the same thing, but my plan it to run em and see how they perform, then make changes.

Ok. Updated.

Sorry folks but its been long over due. Ran out of $$$, patience, time..bla bla bla. So I pretty much parked it for a while

But back in action.

Pulled the TH400 and 208 making room for the new TH400 and 203/205 doubler.

Converting everything to 1410 yokes so all my u joints match

I can't upload pics with the galaxy S3....so I'm pic-less for now
