'86 chevy on rocks-2-14 Dovetailed bed!!

the only thing is the rear bumper attachemnt to the frame, you could have put the 4x4 square tube in between the frame rails and made it alot stronger and had more surface to weld on.

killer project though:D

Originally that was the plan to put it in between the frame rails but with the way the frame was angle down it just would of been a PITA to get everything to be flat there at the end and look right. Plus that cage with be tied into the top of the square tubing so I want a flat surface to tie into.

Got some new wheels and tires today. Drove 4 hours to go and get them. They are 20X12 Stazworks internal beadlocks with 48" goodyear tires. I got 5 wheels and 5 tires. The 5th wheel and tire is not put together. Also the spare is brand new. I had to flip my hubs out and it looks to be about the same width as with my 49's maybe a inch or two wider. The tires are definataly wider though. The wheels were custom cut out and the silver part in the back ground is alien with cross bones.
The new tires are about a inch shorter than the old ones when they are both standing up.

are you running ZERO psi in the tires to get them to squat like that? those have a very stiff sidewall.

Yes that is a 0 PSI. I am gonna pull the valve stems out and drive on them a bit and it is supposed to help soften up the sidewalls. The front folds up pretty good so I will probaby have to run about 2 PSI or so in them. But on the rear there isnt much weight so they dont fold up much just sittin there.

I like it. The new wheels look real good. What are your plans for the back end? Flat bed?

Yeah it will get some sort of flat bed on it. It wont really be much of a bed but it will have something that can hold my tool box and cooler in to where they can be strapped down and not have to worry about them moving when this thing is bouncing up a 5 foot ledge.

At 0psi at least its no big deal when you get a hole in a tire.

I just have them at 0PSI right now trying to get the sidewalls to soften up some. THey are pretty stiff!!! When I go wheeling I will probably have about 2-3 in the front and 1-2 in the rear.

The truck is at a state where it can be wheeled now. It just needs more stuff like rear steer.
