'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
4” turbo back. Just get a diesel exhaust and use it. It’ll be easier to hook up to the teriyaki Terror turbski.
Full blown just lol’d real good.
2.25" full duals or 2.5" full duals or 3" single.

I think beags put up a link for an exhaust flow calculator some time ago. I put the stats in for my current system with the stock 8.1 hp/tq numbers and the 2.25" duals was adequate for it. 2.5" is probably the sweet spot. Anything bigger as duals and you have packaging issues.
Well I have duel 2.5” so it would probably do just fine. My only issue is, I don’t have room for an anti-wrap bar with duels.

Pulled headers and efi/wiring is gone now. Going to work on getting stuff disconnected off and on the rest of the weekend then pull motor/trans/T-case all at once. Not sure where or how to store it just yet, but thinking maybe build a big wooden cart to set the motor/trans combo on so I can freely move it around.

Also, the Jimmy donated a small bit upgrades to the Crusty ‘83.

Wooden moving dollys from harbor freight work pretty good for holding tranny and t case together. Just one ratchet strap to hold it to it. Got my old 465/205 in my garage that way.

Yup. I still have one that I used on my th400.
Plus a set of $30 engine cradle from summit for the engine. It’d be a lot easier to store in two pieces than as a 6’ long combo

Thanks Ron I appreciate the compliment. Some day I'll get the time to do a short write up I've had this thing since 82 so it's been done many times over and as we all know there never done.
I too would enjoy a build thread on your truck.
Even if you just take some pictures of it currently and post them.

I like the sound of a single 3" system plus it makes routing easier. I put a single 4"? magnaflow system on a 2016 Ford with a 6.2L gasser and it had a nice throaty sound.
