'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Man, so many stupid things going on it’s hard to explain it. Long story short, this wiring harness is from an Allison vehicle. The harness was pulled off the wrong vehicle. I’m so pissed.
Doh! That sucks dude. You going to pair down the Allison circuits or shoot for another harness?

Not to worry, all is not lost my engine and harness came from an 09 4500 with an Allison and I used WWW.LT1SWAP.COM wiring guild and changed to a 4L80 and have 0 issues.

Why do you need to get a different harness? My harness is from a suburban with a 4l80e tranny and my harness still has the plugs for the 4l80e in it. I just zip tied them up out of the way (remember mine has an NV4500 too). As long as the ECM is flashed/tuned correctly, it shouldn't matter that you have a TH400 behind it (I think I remember that's what tranny you're running).

I honestly think you don't need to get a new harness at all, or remove the connectors for the Allison, the ECM just needs to be flashed correctly. I'm starting to wonder if you need a new harness person to go through this for you...

If you already have a bunch of time and money into one that seems really stupid to me. But each his own I guess.

I have zero money into the other one. I’m going to give the guy some money for LKQ pulling the wrong harness.

Questions about your high pressure line. Since the the pump is o-ring style is your steering box as well? Did you use a squarebody hose?
Yeah this is all the lines from the square body stuff. Haven’t changed my lines since they were on the ported 2wd steering box.

Thanks for the info, I'm trying to find a solution for my flare box to o-ring pump.
Wait wait wait wait, I totally messed up. Both ends of my lines are flare. I swapped to a new pump that worked with the 8.1 brackets, but also accepted the flare style. Go back a page or so and I posted the part number.

I know that the fitting in the pump can be changed to the flare one in the TBI era stuff. I haven't tried it on anything past a '93 pump.
Or you would have to do custom lines which could also ( possibly) use adapters. Like to go to AN fittings.

I used that part number and looked at the pump details it said it was an o-ring style.

I want to avoid custom lines and I have a new flare hose already. I’ll probably look for a o-ring/flare fitting at the pump since I need a pump with an offset reservoir like the one @GWeakland620 is running.
