'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Ready to see some front axle carnage

You "might as well" beef up your u joints while your in there... I forsee many broken shafts... :D

Oh yeah! I killed 2 last summer. And 1 u-joint:doah:
I've learned to keep my wheel speed down now, and they have lasted 3 trips. On borrowed time till the 60 swap is done:whistle:

Big Boy pants!!!

Found a Dana 60!!!:woot::woot::woot:
Going to pick it up next month for very little cost. Perks of being a parts guy I suppose:whistle:.

On another note, I have a previously enjoyed Dana 44 for sale. PM me for specs and $$$. Or you can read through the build thread:dunno:

No such thing. By the time you redo it you will understand :doah:

Dana 60

Not really much of an update. Talked to the guy I am getting the 60 from, and found out that it has a factory Detroit locker in it!:woot:Also has 4.10's, external lock-outs, and is a DRW. So if any body knows of some SRW Dana 60 hubs, HMU!

Seen it with your own eyes?

By the way, are you going to meet us fellow CK5ers at Tuttle next Friday and Saturday?

Yep, got some pictures on my phone that I will put up tonight. The guy I am getting the axle from is a friend of mine in OK. He owns Hired Gun Offroad.

I am currently the owner of 2 houses, and not a fan of it. I have a lot to do to the house to get it ready for the market, so i have been spending every spare minute working on it. If i can get away saturday i will be there. Incase i miss you guys, when's the next time you are going to be there?

Help

So, I replaced the leaking fuel pump on saturday but the truck is still running really rich. Never dies, just smokes and smells very rich. The fuel pump was leaking which is why I went that route first. I've heard something about Holley carbs having the needles stick?:dunno: I am by far a very good carb guy so this makes no sense to me. I heard someone say to tap the carb on the end while running to free up the needle for the float? Any help would be much appriciated.

Side note: I did run the truck out of fuel a couple weeks ago, shortly after that the fuel pump started leaking.

Stickers!

Stickers make everything faster!!! And since none of you ****ers have any of my carb answers I figured I'd post something else.

Is there fuel coming out the vent tubes on the carb? If there is, pull the needle and seat out and clean it. You may have pumped some crud from the tank when you ran it out of fuel.

I think that's the issue. I will try it out and see. Thanks:waytogo:
