'86 Jimmy 4in Lift, 40’s, tons, 8.1 Swap- 700r4 said PNNNNN

This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Efi time baby!!!

Picked this EFI system up last night off of c-list for $350!!!

It's a Professional Projection EFI stand alone system.

Going to start messing with it here in the next couple days, and see what kind of mess and confusion I can cause myself:doah::dunno:

Where are the wheeling pics?

Well, about that....

We didn't really seem to get any worth a poop.

All the guys from Neb. seemed to not have any working cameras. And every time I remembered to take a picture, it wasn't of and of the the K5's.

I have a couple random ones that I will get up here though.

I did manage to reshape some of my body lines though, as soon as I wash the truck I will get some post wheelin pics up here.

Update

A small, but note worthy update, but still kind of a big deal sorta thing going down.

In the midst of me getting the fuel injection put together, I had a guy give me a decent offer on my Truck Avenger carb.

So, while putting this fuel injection on and getting a good tune, I will also be doing hydro-assist at the same time. I have the ram ordered (along with lines/fittings) from Surplus Center. The steering cap from DIY. And a mount from WFO.

Any issues you guys have seen/know of to watch out for? I am going to be running a stock tie-rod location, so the ram will be mounted in the fashion of the orig. stabilizer.

Also, is a ps cooler needed? I know it's a good idea, and I will have one on in the near future, just wanted to see how cruial it really is.

When throwing it together by yourself, a cooler is worth it. I bought a really small one from summit for ~$30. And picking a good fluid will help out a lot. I recommend doing the pump mod found on westexasoffroad.com. Just do it while the pump is dry. I though I could get away without doing it, but found out later I needed it. Spilled a bunch of my expensive fluid on the ground :doah:. With putting the ram in the stock stabilizer location, you might run into issues with your fittings on top of the ram getting in the way of your leaf spring on the driver side (seen it before on other builds). I went off the diff cover (never leaked, don't let people convince you it will leak going off the cover) and then welded a tab to the tie rod.

I was wondering about any pump upgrades like that:waytogo:

I ended up going a little bit of a diff route with what parts I am going with.

Ordered a kit from trail gear that comes with every thing but the cooler from Hired Gun Offroad.

This will end up being mounted on the housing and then welding tabs to the tie-rod.

I also did some work yesterday on the EFI. Got the O2 sensor installed on the LH header.

I had to remove it in order to drill out the existing bung hole:haha:

Sorry, I had to.

Also the weekend before got almost all the wiring ran for the EFI system. Wasn't really too hard, and was pretty stupid friendly. Had to cut a 2in hole in the fire wall for the main loom to connect to the ECU. I will get more picture of that up tomorrow.

Not sure why that picture popped up of the MAP sensor. Well, there it is incase anyone wanted to see it.

On another note, ignore the P.O.'s wiring hack job. I will be fixing that this winter.
