This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.

Yes. Make sure you get the sender matched to your gauge (60PSI or 80PSI in the stock gauges). Use a 3/4" socket for installation.
Do I need the 45* fitting I’m seeing in a lot of pictures?
Not sure whether it's mandatory, but it'll be harder to access without it. Might even hit the firewall at that angle?

That looks a lot like the sender for the idiot light rather than the gauge.

Correct. If it is it’s a new design.
I’m guessing you got part number G1807 based off some quick googlefu. Look at the pressure limits. Opens at 2 psi and closes at 6psi. Doesn’t sound right to me for oil pressure. Unless I’m missing something.
