This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
Got a line on a coolant cross over pipe from a WV yard. They are pulling it today with the bolts and studs.
Also have a California yard that said they should be able to pull it today too. I'm going to grab both. With them being this hard to find I figure it's a good investment.

You need another source of income so you can start hoarding parts sourced through your main source of income! Start selling drugs, but not the bad ones like meth, maybe just invest in weed or something not so bad.

Finally got the oil pan I ordered on the 3rd. Coolant cross over comes in tomorrow then final paint for a few things and the engine we get final assembly this weekend.
Aluminum is looking good on there. Off to the car wash with the intake and crossover tube.

Oh my lawd this thing is coming together nicely! The intake cleaned up good, so I think I’ll leave it raw for now. Goes with the other aluminum pretty good.

Got a few more things painted and mounted up Saturday. Slow and steady wins the race. But no really, trying to do every step the correct way and not cut corners. This “No more Ghetto Greg” is going to take patience to reverse.

I got an vortec 454 out of a medium duty truck once like that. It was just a long block. Spun a rod bearing. The core on the gm replacement was like $200. I snagged it and never ended up even paying the core charge. Nice job on you!
