This is not a dedicated trail rig, but does trailer to the destination usually. I am currently in the planning phase of doing a 52/56" spring swap, and getting back to being more road worthy.
I would go well in front of that new unit you just brought home too!
I got an vortec 454 out of a medium duty truck once like that. It was just a long block. Spun a rod bearing. The core on the gm replacement was like $200. I snagged it and never ended up even paying the core charge. Nice job on you!

An NV? No, those are scarce right now. I can only get reman units.

Well the other engine deal fell through. The yard that shipped the engine put it into our system for $1700. My boss is trying to reverse it, but not looking like it’s going to happen. I was able to strip the engine and get a ton of free goodies to finish dressing my engine. So I’ll take that as a win.

Yeah get a little PB Blaster down around the threads and an EZ Out should get it. I like the square kind. They seem to grab better than the backwards twist ones.

Just don't go nuts pounding them in or they will just wedge the thing you are trying to remove in tighter.

just soak it overnight like @Truckman4life mentioned and it should come out easy.
