THE TURD submitted a new Build:

87 Blazer The Turd build

lets get the party started
i bought the turd (87 blazer) 6 years ago used it as daily driver for about a year
it came with 6 inch stiff lift super lift springs up front and blocks in the rear 35 x12.50x15 ,is in decent shape with lots of electrical issues (lots) over the years have pulled 2 miles of excess wiring out of truck and fixed numerous problems and still have others popping up now and then .i have been reading others posts about there builds ,i have been purchasing parts for about 2 years and have started the build !!!!!

heres is some of the stuff i bought for the turd;
sway bar disconnect -ORD
shackle flip bracket -gatsby trucks
rear shackle 5"-DIY4X
bilstein 5125 14 inch travel
ORD doubler and tripple sticks -craigslist
weld wheels 17x10 -craigslist
39.5x13.50x17 irocks -craigslist
56" rear springs 2" tuff country used but new condition -craigslist
redneck ram 2wd steering box with ram and hoses -craigslist

i for got about the 14 bolt has been cleaned and has had all new bearings, gears and seals installed the gears are 5:38 .
also purchased a shock inboarding kit with shock tabs -DIY4X

so far i have removed the stock 10 bolt ,shocks springs .
shock inboarding installed in the frame
56 inch springs installed
14 bolt axle mocked up need to set angle and finish up some welding on axle for shock mounts .

old transfer case is out.
installed adapter for the ORD doubler to 700r4 .
installed the doubler and have it blocked up with stands ,
mocking up cross member for t-case .
thats as far as i am to date hopefully will be able to post photos soon .

we have photos
heres the turd before i started the current build ,this is 6 inch lift, 35 tires ,shackle flip,sway bar diconnect ,stock 10 bolts both ends .5.7l TBI, 700r4,208,
this combo does pretty good on trails ,i just have that offroad sickness and this just isnt cutting it !!!!!!!
here is the remove and replace of the rear the shock inboarding installed and the new 56 rear spring and 0 rate moved axle back 1.5 inches and axle is mocked up so that i can get the pinion angle set and shock tabs in the correct spot

Awesome finds on craigslist I never seem to come across the good stuff and your just up the road from me hopefully we can meet up sometime and do some wheeling.

im game for wheeling with new people ,i got lucky on craigslist by searching daily and being specific about search criteria
ie: super swamper instead of offroad or mudd tires .
as far as wheeling goes im shootin for mid may to be ready for shake down run i will keep posting progress
