thats all i was i git done this weekend . i did measure up the drive shaft it will get sent out and shortened ,ordered a support kit for the back of the doubler will be here this week and will try to get to salvage yard to pick up trans cross member for 1980 to 84 thats what ORD recommended .and then need to decide on moving old stuff around to get the 52s upfront or should i just pony up and either get the b52 kit or the abomb bumper from kurt at DIY4x and cure it all in one shot ,i really like the bumper winch cradle from totally naked auto decissions decissions:thinking::screwy:

I think Kert's abomb/b-52 with the winch mount kills all other "buyable" options imo...

oh.. hit "enter" after your pics, it'll space that stuff out better..

keep bangin man.... :D

You can swap the factory front spring mounts to the opposite side... E.I. right goes to left and left goes to right...that will let you put 52s on the front and wont cost you anything but work....that's how mine is cept I have 56s with a "L" shackle to miss the body mount at flex....mine was done in the 80s when Kurt was playing Nintendo, watching Miami Vice and everyone thought a B52 was an Air Force plane...If I was doing it over Id just buy the DIY4x4 kit. the adjustability alone is worth it.

Cool Tip...I was looking for that. BTW did you move the shackle mount as well or leave it in the stock position?

Sorry about the hijack. Your turd look great! :D

good advice and save a buck ,I like it ! shackles were left in stock position .i bought a 60 from a friend a while back he is having motivation issues so im gonna have to hold his hand and go pick it up with him ,it should have already been finished and waiting on me to put it in .
you what they say about excuses !:haha:time to put foot to a-- and get it done

My 1990 K5 has the front body mounts swapped side for side with 52" springs. The rear shackle mounts are still in their factory location.

with 52s you can use a straight shackle in the stock location. you might have to notch the body mount bracket just a bit it depends. My 56s needed an "L" shaped shackle to clear the body mount and make up the added spring length...now I don't have any body mounts so Ive been thinking about going back to an ORD shackle.

As far as flex..it flexes out my 16 inch shocks without any problem...I actually worried about pulling my front driveshaft apart when I first saw how far it would droop.

blazer 096.JPGputiing back together w/zero rate 1.5 forward

blazer 095.JPGinstalled into truck ,by calculation i think im 3" forward for axle mounting ,here is what i came up with spring mount 4" forward spring are 5"longer 26" on center or 2.5 longer on center than the 47"which moves it forward 1.5" and zero rate set 1.5" forward should end 3"forward
